WALK IT OFF: Fullerton College swept through the three-game season series at home against Riverside City College on Friday in walk-off fashion winning 2-1.
Tied 1-1 heading into the bottom of the 9th inning with two outs, Hornet pinch hitter Derreck Garcia ripped one down the third base line allowing CF Ryan Joyce to score from second base.
The win gives Fullerton three-game cushion for first place in the Orange Empire Conference with an overall record of 17-6 with a conference record of 9-2. The loss for the Tigers lands them at 16-9 overall and 6-5 in conference.
FC starting pitcher Jeff Curran (5-0) took his second consecutive no decision going 8 innings allowing 5 hits, 1 earned run, 2 walks, with 4 strikeouts. RP Sean Michel (2-0) got the win putting in a solid inning of work with no hits and 2 strikeouts.
