HORNETS TAKE THE SERIES AGAINST SANTA ANA

HORNETS TAKE THE SERIES AGAINST SANTA ANA: Fullerton College beat Santa Ana College 10-3 on Tuesday taking the 3-game Orange Empire Conference series.

The win maintains Fullerton's first place lead in the OEC with an overall record of 15-6 with a conference record of 7-2. The loss for Santa Ana lands them at 14-7 overall and 3-6 in conference.

Down 3-2 in the 4th inning, the Hornets ripped off 6 runs to take a commanding lead over the Dons. FC went on to score 2 more insurance runs in the 5th to seal the deal.

FC starting pitcher Juan Berumen (1-2) took the no decision going 4.0 innings allowing 3 hits, 2 earned runs, 5 walks, with 2 strikeouts. RP Ryan Romero (2-1) earned the win going 2.0 innings giving up only 1 hits and 0 runs. RP's Dylan Cole, Kevin Jenkins, and Dylan Denker each went an inning with no hits or runs scored.

The Hornets amassed 13 hits to the Don's 4.  SS Jose Rojas had a huge day with 3 hits, 4 RBIs, and a run scored.  RF Troy Mulcahey delivered with 2 hits, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs.  Catcher Paul Frias had 2 hits, 2 RBIs, and a run.  DH Oliver Jackson had 2 hits, 1 run, and 1 RBI.  2B Nick Gotta had 2 this with a run. 1B Garrett Donohoe (run and a walk) and 2B Derreck Garcia each had a hit.

Up Next: The Hornets will play at Riverside City College this Thursday, March 21st. The first pitch will be at 6:00 pm.
