TOUGH LOSS

TOUGH LOSS: Fullerton College breaks a 10-game winning streak at home Thursday falling to Mt. San Jacinto College 3-2 in a non-conference match-up.

FC starter Jeff Curran (5-1) took his first loss on the season going 6 innings allowing 7 hits, 2 earned runs, 2 walks, with 6 K's. MJC starter Augie Gallardo threw a complete game allowing 7 hits, 2 earned runs, 1 walk, with 4 K's.

The Hornets were down 3-1 heading into the 9th and managed to score a run when DH Troy Mulcahey singled to the right side of the field allowing 2B Derreck Garcia to cross the plate.

Down by a run with one out, 3B Erik Lewis stood on third and pinch runner (for Mulcahey) Alan Willes on first. With catcher Oliver Lewis at the plate, Lewis jumped from third and got caught in a pickle where he was eventually tagged out. Jackson got caught looking at the plate and the Hornets fell prey to the Eagles.

Up Next: The Hornets (19-7, 9-2) will get back into conference-play next week when they host Irvine Valley College on Thursday, April 4th. The first pitch will be thrown at 2:00 pm.
