FULLERTON KEEPS SADDLEBACK IN CHECK

FULLERTON KEEPS SADDLEBACK IN CHECK: The Hornets take the three-game season series (2-1) at home against the Gauchos Tuesday 4-1.

FC scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back as pitcher Juan Berumen tossed a complete game giving up 5 hits. The only mistake Berumen made was giving up a solo homerun to Saddleback's RF Brandon Cody. The Hornets made up the run in the bottom of the seventh on a single by 1B Garrett Donohoe that brought in 3B Erik Lewis.

With the win, Berumen improves his record to 3-2. He had 5 K's, 2 walks, and 1 earned run on the day.

As a team, Fullerton collected 9 hits with CF Dakota Wix (1 run) and 3B Erik Lewis (2 runs) leading the way with 2 hits a piece.  Lewis was also filthy with his glove as he made three diving stops for putouts. Catcher Paul Frias had a hit with 2 RBIs while Donohoe and RF Uriel Salinas both delivered with a hit and RBI.
