OEC CHAMPS OUTRIGHT

OEC CHAMPS OUTRIGHT: FC traveled south to Golden West College on Thursday beating the Rustlers 12-4 to wrap up the regular season.

Hornet starter Jeff Curran (7-2) pitched 5 innings striking out 3, with 6 hits against, and 3 earned runs.  RP Sean Michel (5-0, 3 SV) threw 2 innings with 2 strikeouts, no walks, 4 hits against, and no earned runs.  RP Jake Miller (4-0, 3 SV) finished off the Rustlers with 2 strong innings of work (0 hits/1 walk). 

CF Dakota Wix went nuts at the plate hitting an inside-the-park homerun, a triple and 2 singles. 3B Eric Lewis had 3 hits, 2B Nick Gotta contributed 2 singles and 4 RBI's.  DH Troy Mulcahey delivered a run-scoring triple.

The Hornets end the regular season with their first Orange Empire Conference Championship (1983 - South Coast Conference), an overall record of 25-11, and a conference record of 15-6.

Up Next: The SoCal Regionals May 3-4.  No. 1 South Fullerton College will play the winner of the play-in game between #16 El Camino Compton College and #18 Santa Barbara City College on Friday, May 3-4 in a best-of-three series at Hornet Field.  Friday's game is at 2:00 pm and Saturday's game will begin at 11:00 am.
