HORNETS DROP GAME ONE OF THE PLAYOFFS

HORNETS DROP GAME ONE OF THE PLAYOFFS: The #1S Fullerton Hornets hosted #18S East Los Angeles College and fell 6-5 in extra innings.

Fullerton (25-12) gave up a 5-1 lead in the 9th to the Huskies forcing a 5-5 tie. ELAC went on to score a run in the 11th to take the lead, but FC did not go down without a fight. In the bottom of the 11th, the Hornets managed to load the bases with two outs. SS Jose Rojas hit into a fielders choice forcing a 6-4 out on DH Troy Mulcahey at second.

FC starter Jeff Curran (7-2) took the no decision while RP Ryan Romero (2-3) took the loss. ELAC starter Elias Novelo (7-1) threw a no decision while RP Robert Engles (4-0) snagged the win.

Up Next: The Hornets will finish the best-of-three series on Saturday, May 4th.  The first pitch goes out at noon.  Game three will be played 30 minutes after.
