BASEBALL: HORNETS BLANK THE CHARGERS

Fullerton dismantled Cypress College Wednesday afternoon with a 6-0 road win.

The win gives FC an overall record of 12-5 and an Orange Empire Conference record of 2-2.  The loss lands the Charger's overall record of 10-7 and 1-3 in the OEC.

The Hornets bats woke up against one of the best pitching staffs in the state as Fullerton racked up ten hits to Cypress' five.

Fullerton lead-off batter Dakota Wix got things moving early hitting a single and scoring off of a KC Huth single in the first inning.

In the second inning, FC added to their lead with three more runs. Oscar Heredia scored off of a Ricky Perez single. A Charger error got Wix back base allowing Riley Roberts to score and KC Huth doubled to score Ricky Perez.

Up 4-0 in the sixth, the Hornets sealed the game to score two runs on two more Cypress errors, James Smith and Roberts scored.

FC starting pitcher Dylan Prohoroff (2-0) grabbed his second win of the season going six innings with 6 strikeouts, 3 walks, and 4 hits against. Parker Merritt came in to relieve throwing three innings with a hit against.

Up Next: The Hornets (12-5, 2-2) will hit the road against Riverside City College this Saturday, March 8th. The first pitch will be thrown at noon.
