The Hornets took one on the nose on Saturday as Saddleback College came to Hornet Field handing Fullerton a 7-1 loss.
The loss gives FC an overall record of 17-6 and an OEC record of 7-3. Saddleback's win tied the Hornets for first place in the Orange Empire Conference at 7-3 (15-7 overall).
The game was all Gauchos as pitcher Eric Pierce held Fullerton scoreless through five innings. Saddleback scored runs in the first (1), fifth (1), sixth (2), and eighth innings (3).
The Hornets managed only one run on the day on a triple by RF KC Huth that cored 2B Nick Gotta in the sixth.
Up Next The season series is now tied at one a piece with Fullerton visiting Saddleback this Tuesday, March 25th. Game time is at 2 pm. FC won the first meeting at Saddleback 3-2 on March 3rd.
