The FC baseball team took a game out of the three-game Orange Empire Conference series against Saddleback College on Saturday beating the Gauchos 1-0 at home.
The win bumps Fullerton to 6-11 overall and 1-2 in the OEC, while Saddleback's loss puts them at 12-6 overall and 2-1 in conference.
The lone run of the game came across in the bottom second. Tony Accordino led off with a hard-hit single to right center. Eddie Ureno ripped the ball through the right side scoring Accordino from second base.
Connor Tousignant had a perfect game going into the sixth inning and a no-no until the seventh. Overall, Tousignant threw 8 complete innings of 1-hit shutout ball. He had 9 strikeouts with no walks. The Gauchos got on base in the sixth on an error and then in the seventh on a dribbler to the left side. Taed Heydiner came in to close it in the ninth allowing 1 hit with 2 strikeouts.
Up Next: Fullerton (6-11 overall, 1-2 OEC) will play at home against Riverside City on Tuesday, March 12th. Game time is at 2:00 pm.
