MEN'S BASKETBALL: HORNETS IN THE FC CLASSIC CHAMPIONSHIP!

The Hornets played all out on Friday night knocking off San Diego Mesa 64-55 propelling them into the championship game of the 32nd Fullerton College Classic.

It was a back-and-forth first half with 6 lead changes in which Fullerton missed on a few easy opportunities. The Olympians shot 44.4% to FC's 34.6% from the field.

The second half belonged to the Hornets as they built up a 10-point lead on a three-pointer by Julian Richardson to go up 47-37 with 10:09 left in the game. Fullerton locked in their largest lead of the game (14 points) with 6:52 left on a Richardson layup.

FC guard Ian Fox dished out 7 assists with Richardson scoring a game-high 18 points on the night. Forward Kenny Barnes chipped 16 points while bringing down 8 boards.

The win gives Fullerton an overall record of 4-1, while the loss sets San Diego Mesa back to 1-3 overall.

The last time Fullerton played in the championship game in the FC Classic was in 2007 under then head coach Allen Caveness. They won it against Antelope Valley College 86-48.

Up Next: The Hornets (4-1) will play Chaffey College (3-0) in the championship game on Saturday, November 14th at 5:00 pm.
