MEN'S BASKETBALL: HORNETS TAME THE TIGERS

In an Orange Empire match-up, Fullerton took a trip down the 91 Freeway to play Riverside City College on Wednesday keeping the Tigers at bay 70-65.

Julian Richardson had a big night knocking down four big free throws in the last half-minute of play to solidify the tough road win.

The win gives Fullerton an overall record of 14-4 and a conference record of 2-0. The RCC loss sends them to 9-10 overall and 1-2 in the OEC.

Richardson clinched the game on a pair of free throws with sixteen seconds left and then added another pair with six seconds to extend their lead, which was only a one point (66-65) lead at the 23 second mark. Richardson finished up with a game-high 29 points with 4 rebounds and 4 assists.

As close at it got late in the game, the Hornets never trailed. Guard Ian Fox scored 15 points, and Blake McBride added 11 points just in the first half along with 8 rebounds. Kenny Barnes contributed 10 points in the win.

Up Next: The Hornets (14-4, 2-0) will host Orange Coast College this Friday, January 15th in the Hornets Nest. Tip off is at 5:00 pm.
