MEN'S BASKETBALL: RIGHT OUT OF THE GATE

The #13 in state Hornets hosted Orange Coast College on Friday night and took it to the Pirates 83-54.

The win lifts FC to an overall record of 15-4 with a 3-0 record in the Orange Empire Conference, while the loss gives the Pirates an overall record of 8-10 and an OEC record of 2-2.

Fullerton owned the game from the get-go taking an early 8-2 lead on a shot in the paint by Kenny Barnes at the 17:13 mark.

OCC got within three points at 7:35 (25-22) on a jumper by Ibrahim Gerlach, but the Hornets kicked it up a notch going on a 17-6 run. Three consecutive threes helped their cause (Collins, McBride, McBride). By halftime, FC led 42-28.

The Hornets stayed hot in the second half maintaining a healthy lead. FC took their largest lead of the game of 31 points, on a Mitch Vines layup, with 55 seconds left in regulation (82-51).

Holding on tight to their lead, Fullerton suffocated the Pirates causing 10 turnovers in the game maintaining their third conference win.

Isaiah Clark had his best game of the season scoring a game-high 22 points and brought down 9 rebounds. Blake McBride put up 19 points (5-9 3pt) with 6 rebounds. Kenny Barnes chipped in with 12 points and Ian Fox displayed good vision tonight with 7 sharp assists. He also helped out with 7 points.

Up Next: The Hornets (15-4, 3-0) will play at Santa Ana College (4-13, 0-3) on Wednesday, January 20th @ 5:00 pm.
