MEN'S BASKETBALL: 33RD FC CLASSIC IN THE BOOKS

The Hornets hosted the FC Classic Tournament winning their first game on Wednesday but then went on to drop their next two games on Friday and Saturday.

Fullerton got off to a solid start beating San Diego Mesa College 73-51 on Wednesday night. Kendall Lauderdale came off the bench to lead FC with 12 points with 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Kenny Barnes put up 11 points and brought down 4 rebounds. Jesse Ghee and Dezmond Rowen followed up with 8 points each.

In game two Friday night, the Hornets lost to Citrus College 62-54. The Owls out scored FC 13-6 on points off of turnovers and out-rebounded Fullerton 43-36. Dillon Reise scored 19 points for FC and brought down 5 rebounds. Lauderdale had another solid outing scoring 13 points with 9 rebounds.

On Saturday, the Hornets played in the Third Place game against Mount San Jacinto (a team they beat last weekend 68-65 at the San Diego City Tournament). Fullerton put up a fight in the first half, but were overpowered in the second falling 79-64. Reise dropped in another 19 points and Johnathon Ross followed up with 13. Lauderdale added 11 points along with 8 boards.

The championship game featured Citrus College and San Diego City College. The Knights were up late in the game and let it slip away in the final seconds as Citrus won the 33rd annual FC Classic Tournament 77-75.

MVP of the tournament was Citrus College sohomore Kenneth Cyprian out of Chino Hills High School.

Up Next: The Hornets (4-2 overall) will play at the Antelope Valley Tournament December 2-4. FC will open up against Bakersfield College on Friday, December 2nd at 1:00 pm.
