MEN'S BASKETBALL: PLAYOFF TIME - A NEW SEASON

At the coaches meeting on Monday, the Hornets were selected as the #1 seed coming out of the southern region and look to take on the challenging road ahead one game at a time.

It has been a very successful season for the Fullerton squad as they are looking to quench their thirsts with a state title, which has not been won since 2006.

For the 2016-17 season, FC won two tournaments in the San Diego City and Antelope Valley tourneys. They beat the host teams in the championship game of each. FC managed to beat the #1 team three different times (San Bernardino Valley and Saddleback twice). The Hornets lead the state in strength of schedule and won the one of the state's toughest conferences (5 OEC teams made playoffs). Also, Fullerton was 14-6 against other teams that made SoCal playoffs.

"We are excited to have the opportunity to play in the postseason and for being recognized for having the best body of work in the regular season. We made it a point to schedule as tough as we could in the preseason to make sure we were battle tested as we headed into conference play, and we really believe that preseason schedule prepared us to win the OEC and secure the number 1 seed. While we are happy with the seeding, we understand no championship was won today in that seeding meeting. We have an extremely difficult road in front of us, and need to stay focused on the task at hand, to achieve all of our season's goals. We are excited about being able to continue to be together and prepare together towards a state championship", Head Coach Perry Webster.

Up Next: The #1 seed in the south Hornets will play Barstow College at home on Saturday, February 25th at 7:00 pm. WEAR YOUR BLUE TO SUPPORT THE HORNETS!
