MEN’S BASKETBALL: HARSH ROAD LOSS

The No. 1 Hornets fell hard on the road Friday night at Copper Mountain College 69-63.

FC broke a 17-game win streak that dated back to November of 2018. Fullerton's overall record stands at 19-2 with an Orange Empire Conference record of 4-1. With the win, Copper Mountain is 13-8 overall and 3-2 in the OEC.

Fullerton fell behind early 26-18, and by half time they were down 38-27. 

In the second half, the Hornets came firing back going on a 13-2 run getting within 6 points (46-40). FC continued to pressure Copper Mountain tying the game up at 51-51.

Copper Mountain kept the Hornets off balance taking the game back with a minute left at 64-60, but Fullerton did not give in as they worked their way back within 2 points (65-63) with 22 seconds left. However, they just did not have enough in the tank to pass up the surging Cati.

Up Next:  The Hornets (19-2 overall, 4-1 OEC) will play at home against Orange Coast College on Wednesday, January 30th. Tipoff is at 5:00 pm.
