MEN'S TENNIS: STATELY RUN
The Hornet No. 11 doubles team of Jindrich Kosatik and Sergio Lee-Gutierrez knocked of the No. 2 and 3 seeds in a Cinderella-run at the CCCAA State Tournament in Ojai this past weekend.
In the Round of 16, Kosatik/Lee-Gutierrez came from behind stunning conference rival No. 2 Lafond/Mirecki from Irvine Valley College 2-6, 7-5, 10-8. They also came from behind to knock out No. 3 Kodiji/Luu of American River College 4-6, 6-3, 10-6. The big wins propelled the duo to the semifinals where they fell to the No.1 seed of Khamphilath/Kojima from Foothill College 6-3, 6-0. Kosatik and Lee-Gutierrez finished in the top four out of 128 competitors.
The FC duo of Thiago Manzano and Rodrigo Onate made it to the Round of 32 before falling to the No. 4 seed of Duarte/Toledo from Cerritos College 6-3, 6-0.
