MEN'S TRACK & FIELD: HORNETS PERFORM VERY WELL AT OEC CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Hornet men's track and field team came away with some exciting performances at Orange Empire Conference Championships at Riverside City College over the weekend.

As a team, Fullerton finished in fourth place with 64 points behind Saddleback (98), Orange Coast (177.5), and Riverside (338).

The 4x100m relay team started off the day with a stunner, winning it all with a time of 42.13 seconds. The team consisted of Marquis Rogers, Justin Walker, Taj Wilson, and Kenneth Griffin.

Walker would come back little later to win the 110m HH and the Long Jump. Walker was the defending conference champ in both events and maintained his status as OEC champion. He is currently the state leader in the Long Jump and the High Hurdles.

Marquis Rogers and Taj Wilson took 3rd and 5th respectively in the 100m dash. Rogers ran a season best 10.91 seconds and Wilson finished at 11.06 seconds. Both men will move on to the Southern California Regional meet.

Francisco Padilla took 5th place in the Shot Put and Josh Spillane took 5th in the Discus, both qualifying to the Regional in those events along with both men qualifying in the Hammer Throw.

The Hornets ended the day qualifying in the 4x400m relay with a 4th place finish.

The relay included Tommy Bui, Raymond Gomez-Garcia, Justin Walker, and Jackson Mirth.

Up Next: The Hornets will send nine athletes to the Southern California Regional Meet to be held at Cerritos College on Saturday, May 6th. Events will begin at 9:00 am.
