The #3 Hornets had a let down at home on Wednesday night losing to #6 Santa Barbara City College three games to one.
Things were going well for FC (1-1) in game one as they opened up with a 6-0 lead, but the Vaqueros (4-0) stormed back to win the game 25-19. In game two, the Hornets overcame a back-and-forth set to win in extras 29-27. In games three and four, the Hornets fought hard, but momentum swung in SBCC's favor as they came through with 25-20 and 25-19 wins to take the match.
Kyle Young brought down 9 kills and 3 aces for FC, while Alex Serrano had 8 kills and 3 digs. Jacob Van Der Beek had 7 kills and Kevin Poku had 5. Brian Marquez delivered 35 assists and Zach Huizar came up with 5 digs.
Up Next: The Hornets will be back at it in the Hornets Nest this Friday, February 9th when they host Santa Monica College (1:00 pm) and Moorpark College (4:00 pm).
