MEN'S VOLLEYBALL: HORNETS WAKE UP

After a very slow start to a double-header on Friday falling to Santa Monica College 3-0, the FC men's volleyball team awoke beating Moorpark College 3-1.

The Hornets came out very flat against their first opponent Santa Monica losing in three straight sets. As the match went on, the Corsair grew got louder, while the Hornet bench fell silent.

In game one, FC was punched in the nose falling behind 6-1. They tried to fight back getting within four (16-12), but the Corsairs held on taking it 25-27. In game two, Fullerton fell hard 16-25. In the third and final game, FC kept it close, but the Raiders had all of the momentum pulling off a 24-26 match-win.  

In the second match of the day against Moorpark, Fullerton lost to a fired up Raider team 21-25. After a quick team meeting in the gym foyer the Hornets came out playing like the top-five team they are winning 25-14. Fullerton went on to win the next two games with ease 25-18 and 25-18.

Garrett Geiger led the way with 13 kills, and Jacob Van Der Beek brought down 11 with 9 digs. Kyle Young had 7 kills and Brain Marquez punched in 31 assists.

Up Next: The Hornets (2-2 overall) will play at El Camino College this Wednesday, February 14th at 6:00 pm.
