MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY: THIRD PLACE AT OEC CHAMPIONSHIPS

The FC men's team finished in 3rd place with 89 points in the OEC Championship race at Irvine Park hosted by Santiago Canyon College last.

With a superb finish in the conference standings, the Hornets qualified for the Southern California Regional Championships at Mission Bay Park in San Diego this coming Friday.

Ian Rusk (22:19) and Mauro Rosales (22:34) both had very good races placing 4th and 5th overall out of 72 runners. Sean Wing (24:00) continues as the third man with a 21st place finish. Fourth man, William Gerard (24:57), came in 57 seconds later and finished within 10 places of Sean WingDavid Chairunas finished as the Hornet's fifth man.

"Our top men are running well together and need to keep our third and fourth man closer because next week the field of runners will be larger. This team has the potential to have another outstanding race", claimed Head Coach Gina Bevec. 

The race in San Diego will be the qualifying race for the state championships in Fresno on November 23, 2019. 

Up Next: The Southern California Regional Championships at Mission Bay Park in San Diego. Race time is at 11:00 am.
