SOFTBALL: ONE-HITTER

The Hornets blanked Santa Ana College on the road Wednesday 6-0 with the pitching staff holding the Dons to one hit on the day.

The win bumps Fullerton back into second place in the Orange Empire Conference standings with a record of 7-3, while the loss knocks Santa Ana to fourth place with a record of 5-4.

The game was locked 0-0 through the first three innings, until FC broke loose with 5 runs in the top of the fourth. Sarah Rengifo hit a single to center field scoring Kaylee Williamson. Jocelyn Alcala hit a hard shot that went through the right side bringing Khloe Lilavois and Rengifo home. Sabrina Anguiano did some more damage cranking a the ball through the left side scoring Alcala and Anabel Mendez

Fullerton put up one more run in the fifth inning when Lilivios (4-4 at the plate) struck again hitting one to right field that brought Lulu Vasquez across home plate.

From there, the Hornet defense remained stingy holding the Dons to a scoreless 1-hit game.

The FC pitching duo of Jessica Lopez (7-2) and Lulu Vasquez (10-2) shined as Lopez earned the win going 4 innings with no hits against. Vasquez started the game allowing 1 hit in 3 innings of work. 

Up Next: Fullerton (17-4 overall, 7-3 OEC) will be playing in the Ventura College Tournament this Saturday and Sunday (March 23-24).
