Bio

2019 and 2021 Co-OEC Coach of the Year and 2019 State Coach of the Year

Coach Crystal Aguirre will begin her 6th season as co-head coach of the Fullerton College softball program. Prior to that, she had been an assistant coach for the Hornets since 2011.

A four-year varsity player at California High School, Crystal was voted All-League every year she played, and was also a two-year All-Area selection. A skilled hitter, Crystal batted .469 as a junior and over .500 her senior year.

In 1998, Fullerton College was Crystal's next softball destination where, as a true freshman, she made a name for herself earning 2nd Team All-Orange Empire Conference and taking All-Tournament honors at the State Finals. She batted .350 with 29 RBIs. After taking some time from the game, Aguirre came back to play for the Hornets in 2000. Not missing a beat, Crystal went on to make 1st Team All-Conference and All-Southern California. She batted .408 with 19 RBIs in conference-play and finished overall with a .366 batting average with 29 RBIs.

Graduating with an A.A. Degree from FC, Crystal was offered a full ride scholarship to Cal State Bakersfield.

In 2003, Crystal began coaching softball at Santa Ana Valley High School as the assistant varsity coach. She also spent four seasons coaching travel ball and giving private hitting, fielding, and catching lessons.

Crystal graduated from Cal State Los Angeles in 2007 with a B.A. in Kinesiology, and she then went on to earn a Master's degree in Physical Education at Azusa Pacific University.
