The FC women's soccer team played very well at home against Orange Coast last Friday defeating the Pirates 1-0 in an OEC matchup.

In a heated game here both teams needed a conference win, the Hornets pulled of the win on a goal by Mya Shimizu in the 35th minute (assist Ashley Slouka). Shimizu's shot traveled to the left bottom corner of the goal.

The Hornets were able to hold off an offensive surge by the Pirates in the second half playing excellent defense.

FC goalie Kayla Ippolito was impressive in the box with 6 saves on the day.

Up Next: The Hornets (4-1-1, 1-0-1 OEC) will host Santa Ana College on Tuesday, September 18th at 3:00 pm.
