WOMEN'S SOCCER: FC HOLDS OFF SANTA ANA

In a conference game, the Hornets held on for a 3-2 home-win against Santa Ana College on Tuesday.

Fullerton knocked down the first goal of the game early in the 12th minute on a shot by Alyssa Madrigal that sailed over the goalkeeper's head and into the right corner of the net. The assist came from Georgia Vidal.

Taylor Hobbs put the Hornets up 2-0 in the 23rd minute with the assist coming from Victoria Arrieta.

Although they had a small team (roughly 15 players), the Dons could pack punch with the twin sister combo of Lauryn and Leyna Wood. Lauryn scored in the 44th minute on an assisted goal. After an FC goal by Brianna Remedios (assist by goalie Kayla Ippolito), Leyna scored in the 56th minute.

The Hornet defense managed to keep the Santa Ana threat at bay for the remainder of the game.

Fullerton goalie Kayla Ippolitio played a big role in the win fending off 5 shots on the day.

Up Next: The No. 8 Hornets (5-1-1 overall, 2-1-1 OEC) will take on cross-town rival Cypress College on the road this Friday, September 21st at 3:00 pm.
