WOMEN'S TENNIS: SLOW START, STRONG FINISH

Fullerton got off to a slow start on Thursday at Riverside City College, but finished strong with a 6-3 conference win.

#1 Sarah Anderson swept through her match 6-2, 6-2. #2 Cailin Mitchell (4-6, 6-4, 6-4), #3 Sarah Edwards (5-7, 7-6, 7-2, 6-1), and #4 Jasmine Catolico (4-6, 6-3, 6-2) each dropped their first sets and then managed to sweep through the rest for the win. 

"Our ladies stepped up big time. When the chips were down they never gave up and got a much-needed win for the team", Head Coach Scott Giles.

The win completes a season sweep over the Tigers with Fullerton taking their first meeting of the season at home 6-3 on March 4th.

Up Next: Fullerton (14-2, 8-0) will travel to Cypress College on Tuesday, April 1st. Match-play will begin at 2:00 pm.

In other FC tennis news, former player Emma Sheehan was named as the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference "Player of the Week" at McPherson College. Sheehan, who played on last season's state championship run for the Hornets, recently played in her own backyard beating Biola and Hope Universities.
