WOMEN'S X-COUNTRY: GETTING OFF ON THE RIGHT FOOT

The Hornet women's team took first out of ten teams at the Palomar Invitational on Friday.

Despite the high humidity and three digit temperature reading the Hornet women started their season opener with a win at Palomar Invitational at Guajome Park in Oceanside on Friday.

Maegan Garritson was the individual champion running 20:10 out of 98 runners.

"I knew there was something special about this year's team. The chemistry is there amongst the ladies", said Coach Bevec.

Daisy Esparza 20:34, Elena Estrada 21:33, Taylor Morico 21:36, Daniela Rubio21:42, Diana Ortega 22:14, and Itzel Mendoza 24:00 were the top seven runners for this meet.

This season's team has a good combination of sophomores and freshman that can go the distance.
