HORNETS SWARM ALL-OEC VOTES

HORNETS SWARM ALL-OEC VOTES: Nine Fullerton College baseball players were selected to the All-Orange Empire Conference Team last night at the OEC coaches meeting.  FC center fielder Dakota Wix led the bunch as he was voted the 2013 OEC "Player of the Year".

Wix (Freshman/Troy HS) led the conference in hitting with a .411 batting average.  He was also one of the conference leaders in stolen bases with 14.  Dakota led the Hornets in hits (44) while accumulating 23 runs, and 18 RBIs.

Pitcher Jeff Curran (Sophomore/St. Anthony's) was voted 1st Team All-OEC going 7-2 on the season (86.1 innings) with an ERA of 2.61 and 51 strikeouts.

Catcher Paul Frias (Freshman/Burbank HS) was a 1st Team selection batting .343 with 23 hits, 17 runs, and 10 RBIs.

Utility player Troy Mulcahey (Freshman/Crescenta Valley HS) made 1st Team throwing 40.1 innings with a 2.01 ERA for Fullerton.  He also batted .347, had 35 hits, 22 runs, and 27 RBIs.

3B Erik Lewis was voted 1st Team for his fantastic fielding and .333 batting average.  He was second on the team in hits with 40 and delivered 19 runs and 21 RBIs.

OF Ryan Joyce (Sophomore/El Toro HS) got a 1st Team nod stealing 11 bases and batting .304 on the season.  He also contributed 34 hits, 20 runs, and 18 RBIs.

RP Sean Michel (Sophomore/Esperanza HS) earned 2nd Team All-OEC honors locking down 4 saves and going 5-0 on the season.   Michel struck out 13 batters and had an ERA of 2.45 in 22 innings.

DH Oliver Jackson (Freshman/Mission Viejo HS) was selected 2nd Team All-OEC batting .286 with 26 hits, 12 runs, and 18 RBIs.

IF Jose Rojas (Freshman/Anaheim HS) was selected 2nd Team All-OEC batting .320 with 32 hits, 12 runs, and 15 RBIs.
