BASEBALL: SWEEPY TIME

The Hornets hosted Golden West in the third and final game of the OEC series and managed to pull off the a 11-9 come-back win sweeping over the Rustlers on Thursday.

The win helps FC to a 13-3 overall record and 3-0 record in the Orange Empire Conference, while the Rustler loss sets them back at 15-6 overall and 0-3 in the OEC.

Fullerton was down big 9-3 headfing into the seventh. The Hornet bats came to life as they went on to score 5 runs on home runs by Justin Row (3 runs) and David Miranda (2 runs). 

GWC took a 10-9 lead in the eighth, but FC tied it up on a hit to the left side by Row scoring Joey Parente

In the top of nine, FC pitcher Nick Vega got out of a bases-loaded jam to keep the Rustlers at bay.

In the bottom of the ninth, the Hornets took the game in walk-off fashion when Austin O'Banion out-ran a hit to the left side scoring Joey Parente.

Vega earned the win today going a strong 3 innings with1 hit against with 3 K's. Starter Anthony Parente took the no decision throwing 3.1 innings with 8 hits and 5 earned runs against.

Up Next: Fullerton (13-3, 3-0) will play their next game at Santa Ana College this Saturday, March 12th, where they will face former Hornet assistant coach Tom Nilles, who is now in his first season as the Don's head coach. Game time is at noon.
