BASEBALL: CARRIER SIGNS WITH CSUF
Sophomore right fielder Shane Carrier made it official last week signing with Cal State Fullerton.
Carrier has grabbed the attention of baseball scouts from all over this season leading the Hornets to the top of the rankings with his bat. In 28 games played thus far, he is hitting .410 with 50 runs, and 42 RBI. Carrier is also fourth in the state with 9 home runs and second in state in RBI.
The Hornets are currently ranked third in Southern California with an overall record of 21-7 and an Orange Empire Conference record of 9-4.
The Titans will be getting a good one to help bolster their offense.
"Shane has had a spectacular year for the 2016 Hornets as one of the leading hitters in the state. His outfield-play has also been great making a number of outstanding catches. Against Riverside, he made two great plays by throwing out a runner at home as well as throwing a runner out at 3rd base. He has grown as a hitter in the last year and handles the strike zone in a very efficient manner. Against Cerritos this season, Shane hit three massive home runs leading to a great win over the Falcons. Shane, a Business Major with a 3.55 GPA, is excited about the opportunity to play for the Titans", Hornet Head Coach Nick Fuscardo.
