BASEBALL: HUFFMAN WILL BE A DIRTBAG

Sophomore second baseman Laine Huffman has signed a letter of intent with Long Beach State.

A returning starter for the Hornets, Laine was named to the Orange Empire All-Conference team in 2015 and is enjoying another outstanding season with the 2016 Hornets. This season, he is currently hitting .340 with 32 runs scored, 35 hits, 6 doubles, 22 RBI, and has a conference leading 12 stolen bases.

A graduate of Valencia High School, where he was an outstanding player, Laine was one of the leading base stealers in Southern California. Huffman was also an All-League performer for Joey Secoda's Valencia Tigers.

"Laine's attitude and tenacity elevates his teammates and his presence makes everyone better. His intensity and desire is unmatched and results in great performances everyday, Hornet Head Coach Nick Fuscardo."
