GETTING ONE BACK FROM MT. SAC

For the second time this week, the FC baseball squad played Mt. San Antonio College, but this time they finished strong at home with a 10-2 victory.

On Tuesday, FC fell at Mt. SAC in a 10-inning duel 4-3. Today's win for Fullerton now gives the Hornets an overall record of 6-2, while the loss is the first of the season for the Mounties, who now own an overall record of 6-1.

FC starter Adam Armstrong (3-0) had a great day on the mound earning his 3rd straight win. Armstrong went 7 innings with 7 hits against and 1 earned run. He also had 1 strikeout and 0 walks. Joe Linehan tossed a hitless inning with 2 K's. Garrett Paschal finished off the last inning with 2 hits against and a strikeout.

Fullerton put up the first run of the game in the first inning on Jacob Sharp's doubled into the right center gap scoring Isaiah Marquez.

The Hornets made it 2-0 in the second when Kaipo Haole ripped a doubled deep to right center giving Garet Crenshaw the chance to cross home plate.

The Mounties got a run back in the top of the fifth thanks to Will Bermudez's triple to deep center field scoring Blake Borgogno.

In the bottom of the fifth FC Jacob Sharp struck again crushing a homerun over the left field ivy putting the Hornets up 3-1.

Mt. SAC got the sixth started with a knock and an error putting Art Ruiz on the third base bag. The next batter Cristian Enriques hit a SAC Fly to left plating Ruiz.

Fullerton took control of the game in the sixth dropping 4 runs to go up 7-2. Marco Malerba knocked a double off the to right center ivy scoring Dominic Martinez. Kaipo Haole crushed a double to right that brought in Malerba and Barrios. Isaiah Marquez then singled up the middle to score Haloe.

Three more insurance runs came across in the seventh putting the Hornets a lead of 10-3. With the bases loaded, Haole worked the count for a walk and RBI forcing Martinez home. Isaiah Marquez rocked a double to the left field corner bringing in Marco Malerba and Garet Crenshaw.

Up Next: The Hornets (6-2 overall) will get back at it at home tomorrow (Feb. 11th) when they welcome Chaffey College to Hornet Field at 2:00 pm.
