GREAT GAME, TOUGH LOSS

No. 14 Fullerton College hosted the third and final OEC series game against No. 11 Riverside City and fell in a 2-1 duel. 

The Hornets got the best of Riverside on Tuesday with a 10-5 victory but lost the Orange Empire Conference series after losing at RCC 10-3 on Thursday along with today's loss. It was the first OEC series that Fullerton had lost all season. 

FC starter Jon Sarmiento (1-3) went 6 innings with 2 hits against, 0 earned runs, had 2 walks, and a strikeout. Reliever Joe Linehan threw 3 innings with a walk and a strikeout. 

RCC snuck in an early lead in the top of the second Daniel Briones reached first on a FC fielding error and D. Price hurried home from second. 

Fullerton tied the game up at one apiece in the bottom of the fifth on Isaiah Marquez's single to center field that brought Niko Santamaria across the plate. 

The Tigers took the 2-1 advantage in the top of the sixth when Maxwell Shor popped a single through the left side plating Ignacioo Alvarez for the eventual win. 

FC had 9 total hits to the Tiger's 2 leaving 12 runners stranded to RCC's 4. 

Up Next: The Hornets (19-11 overall, 7-5 OEC) will hit the road on Tuesday, April 5th to play No. 2 Santa Ana College at 2:00 pm.
