No. 13 Fullerton advances past No. 12 Chaffey College after taking game two of the SoCal Regionals 6-4.

In just his second full season as the Hornet's head coach, Chad Baum has led his team to the CCCAA Super Regionals. His first two seasons were cut in half due to COVID-19. The last time FC advanced to the second round was in 2016.

Down 3-1 heading into the fifth inning, Fullerton managed to push two runs across to tie the game. Haku Dudoit hit a SAC fly to centerfield giving way for Jared Benash to hustle home from third and Niko Santamaria powered a single through the right side plating Jimmy Blumberg.

FC went up 4-3 in the sixth when Jimmy Blumberg reached on a Panther throwing error allowing Diego Franco to cross home plate.

In the seventh, a Fullerton throwing error on a steal attempt gave Chaffey the chance to tie the game 4-4.

The Hornets found a way to pull ahead in the bottom of the seventh when Isiah Marquez popped a single to center field scoring two baserunners in Niko Santamaria and Haku Dudoit.

Nathan McManus (3-0) came in to pitch the final three innings of the game and was stellar earning the FC win. He only gave up 4 hits, had no earned runs, no walks, and had a strikeout. Starter Matt Romero went 4 innings with 5 hits against, 2 earned runs, no walks, and had 1 strikeout. Middle reliver Ryan Chavez threw 2 innings and gave up no hits, no runs, had 1 walk and 4 K's.

Fullerton had a total of 8 hits to Chaffey's 9. Three FC players had a two-hit game in Haku Dudoit, Niko Santamaria, and Isaiah Marquez.
