GAME ONE GOES EXTRAS

The FC baseball squad opened up a three-game series with Sacramento City College at Hornet Field on Thursday and went into extra innings with the Panthers edging the Hornets 5-4.

The game went 12 innings with both teams knotted up 4-4. With the sun setting, the game was halted due to a lack of light and was picked back up at 11:00 am the next day. 

Sacramento City got one across in the top of twelve when Dylan Drake singled to right center scoring JT Maloney.

Fullerton had its chance to tie it after Trevor Schmidt got on after working the count for a walk. The Panther's Ryan Seo closed the door earning his first win of the season.

Ari Kligman got the start for FC throwing 5 solid innings with 1 earned run against on 3 hits. He had 3 walks and 1 strikeout. 

At the plate, three Hornets had a multi-hit game in Diego Franco (triple, single), Dillon Anderson (2 doubles), and Andrew Pyle (2 singles). Britton Beeson added a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth.

Up Next: The Hornets (7-6 overall) will play game two vs. the Panthers on Friday, February 23rd at home. The first pitch goes out at 12:00 pm.
