FC TAKES GAME TWO FROM GOLDEN WEST

After dropping game one at Golden West on Tuesday, the Hornets took game two of the three-game Orange Empire Conference series at home Thursday in a 15-7 run-fest.

It took a lot of hard work by the FC coaching staff and players, but they managed to dry out the field in time for the game from the heavy rain the night before.

The rain also sprouted many runs as both teams combined for 23 total runs, 29 hits, 6 doubles, and 5 homeruns.

Fullerton's Rudy Gonzales was perfect at the plate going 3 for 3 with a homerun, 2 walks, 2 runs, and 2 RBI. Trevor Schmidt was 2-5 with 2 runs, 4 RBI and homer. Britton Beeson was 2-6 and had 2 runs, while Ryan Kirk was 2-3 with 2 walks, 4 runs, 1 RBI, and a homerun.

Getting the start for FC was Ari Kligman, who threw 3.1 innings with 6 earned runs on 9 hits. He had 3 walks and 3 strikeouts. Ethan Moran (2-1) worked 5.2 innings for the win and had 8 hits, 1 earned run, no walks, and 7 strikeouts.

Up Next: The Hornets (13-7 overall, 1-1 OEC) will head back to Golden West on Saturday, March 9th for game three. Game time is at 12:00 pm.
