FULLERTON COMPLETES THE SWEEP OVER CYPRESS COLLEGE

The Hornets worked the sweep over Cypress College after defeating the Chargers 13-12 in game three of a wild road game.

This is the first time since the two teams joined the Orange Empire Conference in 1989 that Fullerton swept has the series verses Cypress. The last time FC swept the Chargers was in 1968 while both teams were in the old Eastern Conference. The Hornets beat Cypress in two non-conference games during the 1978 season.

The game came down to the top of the ninth where Fullerton was down 12-11. Trevor Schmidt came up to bat for FC with Noah Rodriguez on first and knocked his third home run of the game to put the team up 12-11. 

Ryan Franson (1-2) worked a clead ninth inning to earn his first win of the season. He threw 1.1 innings with a hit against, no walks, and 1 strikeout.
