FOOTBALL: DOUBLE OT IN THE PATRIOTIC BOWL

The FC football team earned the opportunity to play in the Patriotic Bowl against Mt. San Antonio College Saturday night ending the season with a tough 34-28 double-overtime loss to the Mounties.

It was the 30th bowl game in the history of Fullerton College football, and Saturday night's loss to Mt. SAC put FC's overall bowl game record at 21-9. The first time the Mounties and Hornets did battle was in 1946, a 28-13 Fullerton win. The last time they met, before tonight, was in 2019 for the Central Conference Championship, which Mt. SAC won in a hard-fought 20-13 dogfight. The Hornets have the all-time series lead at 36-24-2.

Quarterback Chandler Galban was named the "FC Player of the Game" throwing for 218 yards with a 53 yards pass to Braedin Huffman. Galban also had two rushing touchdowns for 41 yards and 4.

Oshea Davis led the way for FC defensively with a game-high 8 tackles (all solo), a breakup and a pretty pick-six from 20-yards out. Chandler Brown and Junior Wily both had 7 tackles, while Jonoven Smith had 6.

It was another successful season for the Hornets wrapping up the 2021 campaign with an overall record of 6-5. The offense averaged over 387.4 yards a game, while the defense held its opponents to 69.6 yards on the ground and 225.6 through the air.
