ALL AMERICAN AND ALL-STATE HORNETS

Last week, the California Community College Football Coaches Association announced the All-America and State teams.

Earning All-American honors was freshman offensive lineman Marcelo Saenz, along with sophomores Jason Wallace (defensive lineman) and Kashan Griffin (punt returner).

Marcelo Saenz was a key component on the offensive line that blew holes open for a rushing attack that produced 24 touchdowns.

Jason Wallace  was a great disrupter for FC's interior line accumulating 15 tackles, 4 sacks, and 2 blocked kicks.

Return Specialist Kashan Griffin had 17 kick returns 523 yards (30.8 yard average), and had 14 punt returns for 123 yards. Kashan broke the FC school record for most kick returns during the 2019 season with 15 for 704 ad 4 TDs. Griffin also holds the program record for most career kick return yards at 1,245.

The All-State Hornet selections were Saenz, Wallace, Griffin, Branden Rankins (sophomore/running back), Isaac Hurtado (freshman/linebacker), Jaylin Early (sophomore/linebacker), and Jordan Wright (defensive back).

Branden Rankins  led the Southern Conference with 12 rushing TDs while racking up 670 yards on 127 carries.

Isaac Hurtado was outstanding in 2021 with 43 tackles and led the Hornets with 5 sacks. He had 9 tackles for loss (48 yards), 2 forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and 3 breakups.
