MEN’S BASKETBALL: THE MVP SIGNS

Sophomore MVP Lance Coleman II lands at Cal State Northridge!

The All-Orange Empire Conference and state's "Most Valuable Player" made his decision on Tuesday afternoon in the Hornets Nest where teammates, coaches, friends, and family gathered to witness Lance sign on the dotted line for the Matadors.

Coleman II led the Orange Empire Conference averaging 19.4 points a game along with 7.6 rebounds. He finished fifth overall in the state with 640 points and is now fifteenth on the Hornet single-season scoring list. Lance's single game high was 40 points against Orange Coast, which ties him for ninth in the school record book with Bobby Natoya (1992-93). He ranks 15th overall in the single-season points with 640 in the FC record book.

Lance really stepped it up in the post season leading Fullerton College to its fourth state title. In the state quarterfinal game against Santa Rosa, Coleman II took over the game scoring the last 13 points for a come-from behind 71-68 victory. For his efforts during the state tournament, Lance was named as the MVP of the State All-Tournament team.

"I am so proud of what Lance has done over his last two years as a player, but more importantly as a person. He has been humble, accountable, and a leader on and of the floor for our program. I consider myself lucky to have coached him. I know he will have great success not just at Northridge, but also in all aspects of life moving forward. Lance and his family have had a positive impact on Fullerton College that will last a very long time", Hornet Head Coach Perry Webster.
