PLAYOFF TIME! HORNETS ARE THE NO. 1 SEED!

PLAYOFF TIME! HORNETS ARE THE NO. 1 SEED!

The Hornets earned the No. 1 seed out of the 24 teams that qualified for the state playoffs this season.

The top seed comes with a first-round bye, so the Hornets will now host the 16th seed in West Los Angeles College after the Wildcats got past No. 17 Allan Hancock 74-73 on a free-throws with no time left on the clock. The Bulldogs were winning 73-72, until West LA's Gavin Davis was fouled taking a shot as time expired.

Fullerton last played West LA on December 9th when the Hornets took down the Wildcats 84-70 in the 36th Annual FC Classic. The winner of this Saturday night's game will play the winner of No. 8 San Diego City and No. 24 Copper Mountain on Saturday, March 4th.

The Hornets have made history collecting a 16-win conference title, which is a first since the Orange Empire Conference added two more teams in 2019. Riding a 20-game win streak, Fullerton has been voted the No. 1 team in the state for a majority of this season only losing one game on the road. The OEC champs have now collected 31 conference titles since the program began in 1927. The Hornets are now on the hunt for a fifth State Championship (State Titles won: 1954, 1961, 2006, 2019).

Up Next: No. 1 Fullerton (27-1 overall) plays No. 16 West LA College (19-10 overall) this Saturday, February 25th at 7:00 pm in the North Gym. Come out and watch some exciting basketball on our home court and support your Hornets!
