GAME ONE OF THE FC CLASSIC NETS A HORNET WIN

The No. 3 Hornets rang in the 37th Fullerton College Classic on Thursday night with a strong 110-74 win over No. 16 LA Southwest College.

It was the biggest scoring output by FC to date as the team shot 58.2% from the field proving this fresh-faced group of ballers are beginning to gel.

Recently moving up to No. 3 in the CCCMBCA rankings, Fullerton added another win improving its overall record to 7-2, while LA Southwest College took on its third loss of the season bumping its record to 6-3 overall.

After the first five minutes of the game it was tied 6-6, however Fullerton turned it on with a hige 19-4 run that was capped off by a layup by Addy G'bye putting the Hornets up 25-10 by the 7 minute mark. Armed with a big lead, Fullerton cruised to halftime with a 47-30 advantage.

The Hornets did not let up in the second half pushing the lead to 30 (95-65) with four minutes left in the game. FC snuck in its largest lead of 39 with a minute left thanks to a deep-three by Shawn Woodson.

Five Fullerton players lit it up scoring in double digits in Amound Anderson II (20), Jaden Byers (20), Christian Watson (15 with 8 rebounds), Godfrey Little (12), and Addy G'Bye (10). Shawn Woodson just missed the night's double-digit club by a point scoring 9 and also had 5 rebounds. Jeremiah Davis scored 8 points with with 4 assists, while Justin Davis put up 7 points with 6 rebounds. Andrew Pipersburgh brought down 8 boards, had 3 blocks, and 4 points.
