HORNETS GOLDEN VS. THE RUSTLERS

The No. 4 FC men's basketball team kept the ball rolling on Friday night with its 11th straight win at Golden West College 96-75.

Fullerton's win keeps the team undefeated in the Orange Empire Conference at 9-0 with an overall record of 18-3. The Rustler loss holds them down at 1-8 in the OEC with an overall record of 2-19.

Golden West dropped a three on FC for the first bucket of the game and then went on to take a 16-10 advantage five minutes later. Fullerton soon turned the tables grabbing a 24-23 lead on a layup by Christian Watson at 10:17. Watson struck again a few minutes later bumping Fullerton's lead to 32-23. The Rustlers were not done as they pulled within two-points (36-34) with four minutes left in the first half. The Hornets, however, took off on another run (11-4) finishing the half with a 47-38 edge.

Fullerton completely took over the contest in the second half leaving no room for a Golden West comeback. In fact, FC took its largest lead of 27 at the 7 minute mark that was highlighted by a three-point shot by Alex Archer. Up by a hefty amount, the Hornets finished out the rest of the game with another strong conference victory.

Five Fullerton players scored in double digits in Christian Watson (16), Godfrey Little (15), Amound Anderson II (12), Alex Archer (12), anbd Jayden Byers (11). Justin Davis and Shwan Woodson helped out with 8 points, while RJ Banks dropped in 7.

Up Next: The No. 4 Hornets (17-3 overall, 9-0 OEC) come back home on Wedensday, January 31st when they host Santa Ana College. Game time is at 5:00 pm.
