On Wednesday night, the No. 16 seeded Cerritos College got past No. 17 MiraCosta College 70-67, which now opens the door for No. 1 Fullerton to host the Falcons for round 2 of the SoCal Regionals this Saturday night.
It was the Falcon's 13th straight win as the team ascends to a 20-9 overall record. It will be the first meeting between the Cerritos and Fullerton (24-4 overall) since the 2019-20 season, which was a close 61-60 FC win. The Falcons are looking for their first victory over the Hornets since a season-opening 77-57 win during the 2011-12 season under then FC head coach Andre Smith.
The stage is set for the Falcons and Hornets to meet this Saturday, March 2nd for the 3C2A SoCal Regionals at Fullerton College's Hornets Nest. Tip off will be at 7:00 pm. Come out and wear your gold for this big Hornet playoff game.
