The Hornets traveled up to Oxnard College on Friday for the long-awaited season opener and celebrated with a 3-1 win over the Condors.
It took over 640 days for the Hornets to get back in action after missing the 2020 season due to COVID-19.
Fullerton sophomore Steve Perez scored the team's first goal in the 35th minute with the assist coming from Nima Ahmari.
FC took control of the game in the second half scoring two goals in the 70th and 75th minute. Freshman Tanner Coombs knocked in the game's second goal with the assist coming from Perez. The third and game-clinching goal was had by sophomore Jonathan Aleman, while Perez came through with his second assist.
Up Next: The Hornet (1-0 overall) will hit the road against Bakersfield College on Tuesday, August 31st. Game time is at 2:00 pm.
