FRIDAY NIGHT ROAD VICTORY

Playing in the Mt. SAC Tournament Friday night, the FC men's soccer team took on West Valley College and beat the Vikings 3-2 in a hard-fought match.

West Valley stunned the Hornets early scoring in the 8th minute when Jose Meza knocked the ball to Andres Fernandez, who scored the game's first goal.

It did not take long for FC to tie it up nine minutes later on a feed from Hayden Kenny to Misael Gonzalez for the score.

Gonzalez struck again in the 49th minute with the assist coming from Nathan Giles.

The Vikings tied the game back up in the 57th minute thanks to a shot by Brian Mariano with the assist by Erick Villasenor.

It was Evan Courtney's goal in the 76th minute that brought home the victory with the assist coming from none other than Misael Gonzalez.

This was the third straight game where Misael Gonzalez scored two goals. He is currently second in the state in goals scored with 6.

FC goal keeper Mario Floriano had a very active night with 10 saves with 2 goals aganst in 90 minutes.
