ANOTHER SHUTOUT FOR FC

The No. 1 Hornet Fútbol team did it again at home Friday night holding another conference rival scoreless beating Santa Ana College 3-0.

FC's victory puts the team at 9-0-1 overall in the Orange Empire Conference securing at least a share of the title with four games left in the regular season.

It was the 8th time this season that the Hornets shutout an opponent and it was the 6th time for an OEC opponent.

For the game, Misael Gonzalez scored his 20th and 21st goals in the 22nd and 30th minutes putting Fullerton up 2-0 by halftime. Hugo Galeana scored his first goal of the season in the 53rd minute off the assist from Hayden Kenny.

Fullerton goalie Jonathan Ortiz earned his 4th shutout while accumulating 8 saves.

Misael Gonzalez now sits in second place all-time in goals scored in a season (21) for FC surpassing former Hornet and current Cypress College head coach Christian Rus, who scored 19 in 2002. The record is currently held by Cesar Venier, who scored 33 goals in 2003, 26 of which were in conference games.

Up Next: The Hornets (16-1-1 overall, 9-0-1 OEC) will look to keep it rolling when they play at Saddleback College on Tuesday, October 31st at 1:00 pm.
