FC ALL-AMERICAN LEON JETT TO LONG BEACH STATE

Hornet track star Leon Jett signed with Long Beach State this past week.

A sophomore from Camden, Delaware, Jett lit it up last season for the FC track team claiming a spot on the All-American team after taking second in the 400M Hurdles at the CCCAA State Championships with a time of 52.75.

Jett was previously at Delaware State, however he did not participate in any athletic activities due an injury and the COVID-19 shutdown. Looking for a fresh start to his athletic career, Leon moved out to California to live with his brother, who had already made the move to Southern California for work.

"Leon is a model student-athlete with a bright future. I'm proud of all he has overcome to get back to the D1 level. He proved to everyone that he wasn't done, and that this is just the beginning for him. It was an honor to work with Leon, and I know he will have a successful career in whatever he chooses", FC Sprints/Hurdles Coach Francisco Casillas.
