HORNETS CLIMB PAST TIGERS

The Hornets pulled off a nice 10-4 road win at Riverside City College on Wednesday night in a needed Orange Empire Conference game.

Fullerton did not wasted any time getting on the board in the first inning putting up four runs. Casey Dufrene singled to center field scoring Alendy Aguilar. Bella Morales knocked a double to left field scoring Rachel Varela and Dufrene. Alyssa Haro finished off the inning hitting a single through the right side that brought in Morales.

The Tigers cut the FC lead in half scoring a run in the first and two runs in the second, but the Hornets answered back with a run in the third to go up 5-3 on Alendy Aguilar's double to center field that plated Skye Samano.

In the seventh inning, Fullerton went big putting the game out of reach with five runs putting the team up 10-3. Jocelyn Jauregui popped a single letting Isabella Najera come home, and Casey Dufrene struck again with a singled down the left field line scoring Jauregui. B Morales rocked a double to left center that allowed Monique Rangel to come home. Nicole Klenske hit a shot down the left line scoring Morales and Olivia Nunez.

Riverside City managed to squeak in a run in the bottom of the seventh, but the game was well under the Hornet's control.

Emily Flores began the game in the circle going 3 innings with 6 hits against, 2 earned runs, a walk, and 2 strikeouts. Isabella Najera (4-2) tossed the final 4 innings for the win with 4 hits against, 1 earned run, and a walk.

Up Next: The Hornets (15-16-1 overall, 8-7 OEC) will play at Golden West College this Friday, April 6th at 2:00 pm for another OEC game.
