HAVE MERCY!

The No. 11 in state Hornets honed in on the ball Saturday at No. 10 Cerritos College with 9 hits that lead to an 8-0 mercy over the Falcons.

It was a good win for FC (2-2) as the bats came to life against a solid Cerritos squad that now sits at 3-2 overall.

Fullerton got on the board in the second inning when Alyssa Garcia poked a single to right that brought in Miranda Pozos, who came around from second base.

The Hornets created the real damage in the top of the third dropping 6 runs on Cerritos. Veronica Moore got it started with her double to deep right center that plated 3 runners Jordan Elias, Coco Siono, and Cassidy Hornung. Alyssa Garcia struck again doubling to the same right center gap scoring Payton Babineau and Moore. Batting through the order, Hornung came up to bat again reaching first on a Falcon error. Vue came took advantage and darted home.

The final run, enforcing the mercy-rule, came across in the fifth inning when Cassidy Hornung got on from a fielder's choice giving Serina Vue the chance to score from third.

Allyson Fuentes (1-1) locked down the shutout win going 4 innings with only one hit against. She was lights-out with 8 K's and 0 walks. Macy Brandl came in for the final inning and produced 3 straight K's to wrap it up.

Up Next: No. 11 Fullerton (2-2 overall) will host San Bernardino Valley College this Wednesday, February 14th at 3:00 pm. Come out and watch your Hornets in action!
