Destiny Goodloe led the Hornets with 14 points.

HARDLUCK HOME OPENER

Fullerton had its home-opener on Wednesday night in the Hornets Nest against El Camino College and lost a fourth quarter lead to the Warriors falling 62-60.

The loss lands FC at 1-2 overall after losing to East LA 66-43 and defeating Grossmont 68-58 at the Grossmont College Crossover this past weekend. The Warrior win bumps them up to 2-1 for the season.

Despite owning a 14-point lead near the top of the third quarter, the Achilles heal for the Hornets were free throws, for which they shot only 34.8% to El Camino's 59.1%.

Fullerton also fell victim to turnovers as the Warriors outscored the team 19-10, and 8-1 on second chance points.

The Hornets were strong through the first half owning a 34-25 lead by the end of the half. ECC slowly climbed back into the game with just over three minutes left to tie it up at 56 apiece. From there, the two teams battled it out with the Warriors finishing with the win.

FC sophomore Destiny Goodloe had a strong outing with 14 points with 3 assists, while sophomore Janelle Ramos put up 10 points with 3 rebounds. Sophomore Celise Moreno scored 8 points, and three freshmen scored 6 points in Jocelyn Rea, Amanda Vasquez, and Shanise Ho.

Up Next: The Hornets (2-1 overall) will play at the Moorpark Crossover Nov. 12-13.
